My Friend's Birthday Gifts

I have a friend who lives several hours from me who celebrated her birthday last week. I wanted to send her a little gift that could be mailed to her without costing me a fortune. I packaged them in a bubble wrap padded envelope which can be purchased at just about any store in the office section.

These cutesies were made using ideas from a project and a door prize at Jennifer's stamp camp. These little notes again were ideas taken from Jennifer's card display at her stamp camp. I varied them a little, but still used Stampin' Up! supplies. I am having so much fun hand-making gifts for friends and family. Check back for tomorrow's post with another gift I made using the notepad idea. Until then...

Terri's Stamp Camp - Final Projects

This is the last of the cards we made. These pinwheels look difficult, but were actually super easy using a square punch.
This is an adorable recipe card and holder that I liked so much, I put a magnet on the back and stuck it on my refrigerator. If you slide out the light green card with the ribbon attached to the top, it has the complete recipe for the Strawberry Lime Slushy. This was a super easy project, a little time consuming because you had to let the ink dry on the vellum glass, but it was tons of fun!

New Blog Background

Thank you Jennifer and Emily for the inspiration to change my blog background. This one is called "Like a Ladybug." Can't imagine why I would choose that one...hehe!

Terri's Stamp Camp

I had the pleasure of attending 2 different SU! demonstrators stamp camps this summer. They were both tons of fun. I have already posted the pics from Jennifer's (see post a few days ago) and am now posting Terri's. They are a little blurry, but you get the idea. We did one other card and a non card project I'll post pics of tomorrow. Didn't want to overload this post.
3 different cards...yes the flip flop is a card too. Little pouch project.

KWernerDesign Color Inspiration #17

This is my first attempt at KWerner's color inspiration challenge. I am not submitting it for official judging because it is not official SU! colors. I do not have all of the SU! cardstock and supplies, so I did the best I could trying to match the colors. I think I did pretty good :). The inks used are the official SU! colors, but all the cardstock is color matched as close as I could get it. YaY! I'm excited, I completed my first color challenge.

Our Flower Girl's 7th Birthday

This little girl was one of our flower girls when my husband and I got married. At the time she was 4 and very afraid of the camera. You can tell in the picture posted here, she is no longer afraid of the camera. Too bad she isn't in very many wedding photos. She turned 7 yesterday and we attended her b-day party on Saturday. The other pic is the card I made for her. I took the picture of the card on top of her gift so you can see I used the wrapping paper and ribbon as my color inspiration. The flowers are Stampin' Up! die cuts and are a ton of fun to mix and match. Happy Birthday L!

Stationary and Small Notepad

I have a SLaH customer who placed a pretty sizeable order and I wanted to give her something unique and special to thank her for her purchase and her patience. Jennifer gave me the idea for these great stationary cards and the notepad idea I got from her stamp camp.

Post 4th of July

I'm back in town after a whirlwind 5 days. I don't have anything really exciting to share, just thought I would post about my holiday. I spent most of the time traveling. It began Thursday with R's funeral and burial services. I have to say, I had a hard time when both my maternal Grandpa and Father-in-law passed away several years ago...but I am having a real hard time with R. Maybe it is because he was so young...maybe it was because he was such a good friend...or maybe because we miss him so much and can't imagine him not being here. I really don't know why this one is harder, but it truly is. Thursday was one of the hardest days I have had to go through in a really long time. I still keep re-living that day in my head over and over again...word for word, minute by minute. After the services and spending a few hours with R's parents and my 3 Aggie friends who attended with me, I continued on with my travels.

I headed to my Dad's for the 4th of July weekend. Every year, we spend the 4th on the lake with my family celebrating the holiday and my paternal Grandpa's birthday. Still dealing with R's tragic death, I had a hard time going out in the boat or riding the jet ski, because I kept thinking about how R died. He drowned (sp?). I was scared!!! He was so young, it could happen to anybody...even the best of swimmers. We carried on with the weekend and despite everything going on, we had a great time. It was good to get away from everything - Office work, house work, telephones. It was great to see family again we hadn't seen in a while...well most of them. My Grandpa's wife decided to be a pill, but we tried to ignore her and not let her spoil our fun. I was ready to come home, but I wasn't ready to come back to work yet. Today is my first day back since last Wednesday and I keep thinking - man how I would love to either work from home or not have to work at all. I am jealous of you Jenn. I hope everyone had a great 4th weekend and is getting back into the swing of things as I am.
